Kiyomizu-Zaka slope

Kiyomizu-Zaka slope is the important lane to go to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. There are various shops on both sides of the lane. Most of them are Souvenir shops. At the place of Shichimiya, Kiyomizu-Zaka slope is extending two lanes named Sanneizaka and Gojo-Zaka. A majority of shops are Kiyomizu-yaki and Gallery in Gojo-Zaka. On the other side, Sanneizaka is a shortcut from Kiyomizu-dera Temple to Kodai-ji Temple.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Kiyomizu-dera Temple was founded in 778, is famous for matchmaking, is the oldest temple in Kyoto. “Kiyomizu Kwan-yin” is famous since the Heian period, had a constant stream of visitors. Arena style halls were built on a cliff, Sakura and new green in Spring, red leaf in Autumn, and the other beautiful scenery of the four seasons are the best background for it. 八坂神社

Yasaka-Jinja shrine

Yasaka-Jinja shrine is located in North of Gion-Cho, is one of the famous Shrine with a long history. People in Kyoto nicknamed it Mr. Gion in a friendly way. The same as Maruyama Park, Yasaka-Jinja shrine is businessman’s faith too. The shrine main hall built in 925 was called “Gion building”, is the unique Japan style Shinto shrine architecture. Hanami-Koji
