The most awesome thing to do in a snow day is to enjoy the view of snow while bathing in an open-air hot spring. With the ground and the rocks near the hot spring covered by the thick snow, putting a hot towel on your head while bathing in the hot spring with the snow falling on you from the sky, you can feel extremely comfortable refreshed and relaxed in this steaming but cool air.
Benifuji-no-Yu Onsen in Yamanakako is one of the famous hot springs where they can provide you the wonderful experience like this. You can even overlook the Mount Fuji in a winter morning while you are enjoying the hot spring. Beside the open-air hot spring, they also have hot spring SPA, massage hot spring, lying bathing, and sauna. etc.
After a hot spring bathe, you can go to the garden through the staircase with a warm carpet to enjoy the beautiful view of Mount Fuji you can see there.
About the food there, I want to recommend you a traditional Japanese food named Kamameshi which is popular not only with Japanese but also foreigners. It is good in color flavor and taste.
