Naoshima (直島) is an island with no more than 4000 people in population in which is located in the Seto Inland Sea that is known for its modern art museums, architecture and sculptures. The south part of the island is “Setonaikai National Park” where is famous for its beautiful natural scenery. The easiest way to get to Naoshima is either from Takamatsu Port or Uno Port. It takes 60mins by boat from Takamatsu Port, and takes 20mins from Uno Port.
1 -Chichu Art Museum
Chichu Art Museum is designed by the famous architect – Tadao Ando. In order to protect the natural ecology of “Setonaikai National Park”, most of part of this museum is built underground. Also, this museum displays Claude Monet’s some of the significant work including “Water Garden”.
